2018 Nissan Rogue Earns Accolade from Texas Writers
The popular and high-selling 2018 Nissan Rogue has earned even more fans—the Texas Auto Writers Association (TAWA). The writers bestowed the distinction of “Compact SUV of Texas” onto the SUV at the yearly Texas Truck Rodeo, which gives journalists a unique opportunity to put specific vehicles to the test and assess how they handle terrain and driving challenges.
According to Nissan, “The Nissan Rogue, already the number one selling Nissan model, added an all-new Rogue Sport model mid-year, strengthening both total Rogue sales and the Rogue brand. For 2018, in addition to ProPILOT Assist, every Rogue offers NissanConnect featuring Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™, along with standard Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB).”
The 2018 Nissan Rogue is available in two new colors—Midnight Pine and Scarlet Ember—and three trims—S, SV, and SL, all available in either all-wheel drive or front wheel drive. Each trim is powered by an intense 2.5-liter four cylinder engine, which generates 170 horsepower and 175 lb-ft of torque. An Xtronic transmission outfitted with standard Eco and Sport Mode switches expertly complements the engine. In addition to the substantial revving power, the front-wheel-drive equipped models of the 2018 Nissan Rogue maintains a striking fuel economy of 26 mpg in the city, 33 mpg on the highway, and 29 mpg combined.
The new Nissan Rogue still offers the inventive passenger and cargo space maneuverability drivers adore with its “innovative EZ Flex Seating System™ and Divide-N-Hide® Cargo System.”
According to Nissan, “Details such as wide-opening (77 degrees) rear doors for easier entry and exit to the rear passenger space add to its utility—along with available Motion-Activated Liftgate—making Rogue the perfect vehicle for everyday use and family adventure getaways. The Motion-Activated Liftgate, standard on Rogue SV and SL grades, uses a kick sensor system to provide easy, comfortable and secure operation – both opening and closing of the tailgate.”
The 2018 Nissan Rogue also delivers a suite of standard infotainment features such as streaming audio via Bluetooth® and Hands-free Text Messaging Assistant, Sirius XM® Satellite Radio, 5.0-inch center meter color display, and four speaker audio system.
