2019 Ford Mustang Shelby GT350 Keeps Bringing the Heat With Latest Updates

Track-ready pony car receives performance, appearance, and entertainment upgrades

The Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 is set to make its return by 2020 with 700+ horsepower, but the Mustang Shelby GT350 is still making plenty of noise of its own. The updated 2019 Ford Mustang Shelby GT350 is expected to be better and faster than the previous version thanks to the addition of a new spoiler, wheels, and tires and improvements to the suspension and electric power-assist steering.

“Somewhere, Carroll [Shelby] is smiling,” said Hermann Salenbauch, global director for Ford Performance vehicle programs. “The new Shelby GT350 is our ultimate track Mustang. We’ve stuck to Carroll Shelby’s original formula for winning championships and made our Shelby GT350 even better with the latest in race-proven aerodynamics, tire, and chassis technology.”

The 2019 Ford Mustang Shelby GT350 will be offered with a new spoiler that will be offered with an optional Gurney flap. This feature — combined with a reoptimized grille closeout and improvements to the MagneRide active suspension, electric power-assist steering, and three-mode electronic stability control settings — make the Shelby GT350 more aerodynamically efficient.

The Mustang Shelby GT350 will also be offered with new Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires — 295/35 in the front and 305/35 in the rear — that feature a distinctive tread pattern and are made from a grippier compound that helps improve acceleration. The tires come wrapped around new 19-inch aluminum wheels.

Additional updates to the 2019 Ford Mustang Shelby GT350 include an available 12-speaker B&O PLAY audio system, standard 8-inch SYNC 3 touchscreen with FordPass Connect, standard dual-zone electronic automatic temperature control, and Miko suede door panel inserts. Two new colors are being offer for the 2019 model year: Velocity Blue and Ford Performance Blue, and an available Technology Package will add mirror-mounted Shelby Cobra Projection Lamps.
