The 2020 Mustang Shelby GT500 Configurator is Here
It’s time to get configurating! The 2020 Mustang Shelby GT500 configurator is live, and it’s ready to show you how the most powerful street-legal Ford ever built can be done up — and how much it’ll set you back beyond its $73,995 base price if you wanna fancy it up some.
Let’s start with the colors. You’ve got an impressive 11 choices up for grabs: Grabber Lime, Oxford White, Iconic Silver, Velocity Blue, Magnetic, Race Red, Kona Blue, Ford Performance Blue, Shadow Black, Rapid Red ($395), and Twister Orange (495). You can punch up your choice (excluding Shadow Black) with a painted black roof, which sets you back an extra $695, or with your choice of three tape side stripes — Ebony, Bright White, and Kona Blue — for an extra $375.

The rumors are true: There’s an option to add painted racing stripes that runs an extra 10 grand, and you can choose between Absolute Black, Oxford White, and Kona Blue. Those same colors are available as vinyl stripes, which cost a more modest $1,000. Adding the painted stripe means no go for the tape side stripes — maybe Ford’s going to add a late model year option for painted side stripes that go for $3,750? May as well just go all out on this thing, right?
Apart from these reveals, there’s not much here we didn’t already know. The Carbon Fiber Track Pack — which includes several exposed carbon fiber elements, adds Michelin Pilot Cup Sport 2 tires, and axes the rear seats — costs an extra $18,500. The Handling Pack ups the price by $1,500 by adding splitter wickers and a Gurney flap rear spoiler, but can’t be paired with the Carbon Fiber Track Pack. You’ve also got your Technology Package, complete with B&O Sound System and voice-activated nav, for $3,000.
All told, if you opt for a Twister Orange Shelby GT500 with the Carbon Fiber Track Pack, Tech Pack, and $10,000 stripes, you’re looking at an estimated price of $106,685. Opting for the vinyl racing stripes and side stripes with Twister Orange maxes the price out at $98,060. Either way, not a bad chunk of change.
