3 Nissans Top 2020 JD Power Quality Study

In the 2020 J.D. Power Initial Quality Study, three Nissan models — the Maxima, Murano, and Armada — have topped their respective segments and helped put the automaker’s score above the industry average. Among mass-market brands, Nissan secured a fifth-place ranking.

The J.D. Power IQS measures the number of problems owners experience with their vehicles in the first 90 days (PPH). Higher quality vehicles earn lower scores due to fewer problems than vehicles of inferior quality.

2020 Nissan Maxima

For the third year in a row, the Nissan Maxima took the top spot in the Large Car segment. According to the IQS, the 2020 Maxima scored 121 PPH. The 2020 Maxima is manufactured at the automaker’s Smyrna, Tennessee, Vehicle Assembly plant. The plant, which also manufactures the Pathfinder and Rogue, earned fifth place in J.D. Power’s assessment of quality performance in facilities in North America. A 3.5-liter engine that generates 300 horsepower and a highway fuel efficiency rating of 30 mpg powers the well-equipped 2020 Maxima.

2020 Nissan Murano

The 2020 Nissan Murano earned a score of 134 PPH to take home the top ranking in the midsize SUV segment. The 2020 Murano features a well-equipped cabin with quality materials and artisanship. It is available with Intelligent All-Wheel Drive allowing a smooth performance even when road conditions fluctuate.

2020 Nissan Armada

The 2020 Nissan Armada scored 115 PPH to win the Large SUV segment. The full-size Armada comfortably accommodates eight, and when properly equipped it can tow 8,500 pounds thanks to its intense V8 powertrain that generates 390 horsepower and 394 lb-ft of torque.
