The General Motors Technical Center in Warren, Michigan, is getting a new neighbor across the street in the form of an $8 million Cadillac dealership that will be breaking ground today, June 17th.
The new dealership is owned by Gregory Jackson, who is both the chairman and owner of Prestige Automotive Group LLC. The dealership will feature a two-story showroom with a glass façade and was made possible by a $2.1 million tax break approved by the Warren City Council. Prestige paid $1.6 million for the 4.6 acre property that previously featured a Royal Coventry Inn, which was torn down by the city as part of its civic redevelopment plan.
More traffic and a desire to become part of the Tech Center community inspired the dealership relocation
The new dealership is scheduled to be completed by April 2016. The group had considered just remodeling their existing dealership one mile south at Van Dyke and I-696, but heavier traffic patterns near the Technical Center help them decide that building a new dealership was the better move.
Cadillac models currently featured on Prestige’s Web site that could be included in the new showroom include the ATS Coupe, ATS Sedan, CTS Sedan, SRX, XTS, CTS-V Coupe, Escalade, and Escalade ESV.

Prestige Automotive ranked fifth on Crain’s 2013 list of largest Michigan auto dealers and reported $400.1 million in total revenue for 2014.
General Motors previously announced plans to spend $1 billion to update the Technical Center and Prestige said a major reason they decided to move to the new location was to be a part of the Tech Center community.
