The old saying “here today, gone tomorrow” will apply to the Lincoln MKC sooner rather than later. Slated to be replaced in the lineup by the 2020 Lincoln Corsair, the current MKC will be the last of its kind — and, barring the inexplicable shelf life of the MKT, the end of Lincoln’s MK nomenclature. According to Jim Bray of Canada Free Press, the 2019 Lincoln MKC goes out with a bang.

In his review of the 2019 Lincoln MKC, Bray calls the SUV “a very compelling vehicle that has a lot going for it.” He also goes into a somewhat strange, old-man-yells-at-cloud-style diatribe about the “damn nannies” of available driver-assist technologies like the forward sensing system (he muses this is presumably “for those who don’t know which direction they’re facing”) and Lane Keeping System (with sarcasm quotes around “assist” and a general statement against “lane departure crap.”)
But other than his grudge against driver-assist safety features, Bray calls the MKC “a fine vehicle to drive.” So as not to lead anyone to think that he’s totally anti-technology, he includes that he’s a big fan of the SYNC interface and gives a nod to Apple CarPlay and Android Auto (though he does say that he’s “happy just streaming most stuff via Bluetooth,” which, okay.)
He’s quick to note that he found the MKC impressive enough that he’s curious to see how the 2020 Lincoln Corsair will improve on it. He suggests “giving it reverse gullwing doors that imitate the American World War II fighter for which it’s supposedly named,” which is something that Lincoln has in fact kicked around for SUVs to some extent.
So there you have it: The 2019 Lincoln MKC is a great choice for Canadian drivers as long as you can get past all that convenient technology.
