The Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross is quickly becoming one of Mitsubishi’s most popular models in the U.S. As it turns out, the Eclipse Cross isn’t just popular in the American market.
The Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross recently received a series of automotive awards in Russia.

The crossover was recently named the “Best Compact SUV” at the national “Car of the Year in Russia” awards. The “Car of the Year in Russia” awards are determined by a public vote. More than a million people vote for their favorite vehicles, with the results verified by research company Ipsos Comcon.
Winners are chosen based on three criteria: technical ability, design, and practicality. Out of 53 vehicles that were launched last year, the Eclipse Cross was a personal favorite among voters.
It wasn’t just the general public who took a shine to the Eclipse Cross. The staff at Za Rulem magazine provided the Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross with Russia’s oldest national automobile award: the coveted “Grand Prix.”
Furthermore, Za Rulem also provided the Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross with the “Fidelity to the Traditions” award. The Eclipse Cross earned this award thanks to its reliable all-wheel drive system, a perfect fit for Russia’s rugged terrain.
The Russian Automobile Forum was also at the ready to hand out awards to the Eclipse Cross. Mitsubishi’s latest model was named the organization’s “Best Market Newcomer.”

Of course, the Eclipse Cross’ many awards are not limited to the country of Russia. In its home country of Japan, the Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross was awarded the title of “RJC Car of the Year 2019” by the Automotive Researchers’ & Journalists’ Conference of Japan.
With all of these awards serving as evidence, it would seem Mitsubishi has an instant hit on its hands with the Eclipse Cross.
