The stylish midsize sedan is available at eight trim levels: S, SR, SR VC-Turbo™, SV, SL, Platinum, Platinum VC-Turbo™, and Edition ONE VC-Turbo™. The standard 2.5-liter Direct Injection Gasoline four-cylinder engine paired to an Xtronic Continuously Variable Transmission delivers an impressive 188 horsepower and responsive 180 lb-ft of torque, but it’s the available powertrain and advanced tech that really grabbed the attention of the Autotrader staff.

“A new high-tech turbo engine, the option of all-wheel drive and a host of driver assist are part of the reason we added the updated Altima to our list this year,” said Brian Moody, executive editor of Autotrader.

The 2.0-liter Variable Compression Turbo four-cylinder engine, which is also paired to the Xtronic Continuously Variable Transmission, generates 248 horsepower and 273 lb-ft of torque (93-octane fuel) and 236 horsepower and 267 lb-ft of torque (87-octane fuel). This powertrain helps the 2019 Altima earn an EPA-estimated fuel rating of 25 mpg in the city, 34 mpg on the highway, and a combined 29 mpg.
