BMW Debuts Inspiring and Innovative “Vision M NEXT” Concept
At its BMW Welt, an event focused on mobility solutions made by the company, BMW unveiled the inspiring “Vision M NEXT” concept vehicle. As a new take on the future of automotive, the BMW Vision M NEXT concept is a look at what driving could potentially become. Previously, BMW unveiled the “EASE” and “BOOST” concepts, the latter of which is focused on the active driving experience while the former is centered on the relaxation involved with self-driving vehicles. The Vision M NEXT represents the prototype version of the BOOST concept.
Say What Now? There may be a BMW hypercar in the works
“The BMW Vision M NEXT provides a glimpse into the future of sporty driving,” said Adrian van Hooydonk, Senior Vice President of BMW Group Design. “Where the BMW Vision iNEXT illustrated how autonomous driving is set to transform life on board our vehicles, the BMW Vision M NEXT demonstrates how state-of-the-art technology can also make the experience of driving yourself purer and more emotionally engaging. In both models, the focus is firmly on the people inside. Design and technology make the ‘EASE’ and ‘BOOST’ experiences more natural and more intense.”
As with most concepts, the exterior of the Vision M NEXT is incredibly futuristic and streamlined, boasting a space gray paint job with black and bright red accents. The innovative concept has signature BMW design cues, including its kidney grille with openings that display a holographic design. The cabin is incredibly simple and elegant, offering a sporty race-inspired steering wheel and a full-surface Augmented Reality Head-Up Display.

The designers at BMW are hoping this new concept reveals how the magnificent blend of style and driving experience will be achievable in a potentially fully digital future. Here’s hoping we get to see one of these (or something close to it) as a production vehicle sometime soon.
