Not quite a rainbow of colors, but it’s well on its way

The current selection of colors for the Buick Cascada isn’t exactly what one would call “varied.” Outside of the occasional shade of red or blue, most of the external options available include neutral colors like silver, black, and white.

While those may indeed still be the most popular color schemes for vehicles, Buick has noticed its drivers requesting a wider range of paint jobs. As such, Buick is adding three new exterior colors for the 2018 Buick Cascada.

Included in the lineup of new hues are Rioja Red Metallic, Dark Moon Blue Metallic, and Carrageen Metallic, a deep shade of green. The Inclusion of the Carrageen Metallic paint job, exclusive to the Sport Touring model, is especially surprising, as most modern brands don’t offer any vehicles in green anymore.

Furthermore, Buick is adding new colors to its convertible top lineup as well. Sweet Mocha and Malbec will soon join Ebony as options for the Cascada’s upper half.

The Cascada is going green (at least aesthetically)

The Cascada’s Sport Touring Dark Effects Package will receive the addition of two exterior color options in 2018. These include Summit White and Ebony Twilight Metallic hues alongside the already established Sport Red option.

Buick utilized color trending analysis techniques to determine what colors would work best for its Cascada model. Of course, Buick also reached out to customers, using their feedback to determine what colors drivers were looking for.

“Color is back,” declares Catherine Black, lead designer of Buick’s Color and Trim Studio. “While 80 percent of the exterior colors purchased globally are neutrals — black, silver or grey — many customers are starting to move away from these neutral tones and have an appetite for entirely different colors like dark navy and maroon.”

If you’re looking for a vehicle that provides you with an added splash of color for your commute, you might just want to consider the 2018 Buick Cascada.
