Chevrolet’s NASCAR Dominance Highlighted in New Ad
NASCAR had its season opener this past Sunday with the 57th annual running of the Daytona 500, and even though the victory ultimately went to Ford racer Joey Logano, Chevrolet still took the opportunity to do a little bit of bragging about the bowtie brand’s history of NASCAR dominance.

Sure, it’s pretty show-offy, but what automaker wouldn’t be proud of winning a record 738 NASCAR races, 29 Driver’s Championships, 38 Manufacturers’ Championships, and 23 Daytona 500s?
The ad aired during Sunday’s broadcast in conjunction with Dale Earnhardt Jr.’s more somber Silverado pickup promo. It also reused the same “Back in Black” song featured in Chevy’s recent Colorado pickup commercial. Apparently, if Chevy’s going to pay AC/DC the licensing fees for that song, it’s sure as hell going to get its money’s worth.
The Chevy NASCAR ad’s tagline is “When you find new roads, you become the most dominant manufacturer in NASCAR history,” which raises the question: How exactly does one find new roads if one only ever turns left?
