Chevy Lets Kids Play “Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare 2”
Chevrolet has been hard at work with its “Real People, Not Actors” marketing campaign, as well as its subgenre, “Real Kids, Not Actors” (even though some of the kids actually are actors). In the latest installment, the bowtie brand promotes both the 2016 Chevy Traverse and the upcoming EA game “Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare 2.”
Talk about great moments in cross-promotional advertising:
In the commercial, a group of kids is asked if they would like to play the upcoming third-person shooter video game “Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare 2.”
“I love that game!” shouts a girl who is obviously a liar-liar-pants-on-fire, because the game won’t even be released until next year. The catch, however, is that there’s only one Xbox One controller and seven different kids.
Fortunately, before the whole thing devolves into Lord of the Flies-style chaos as the children destroy one another for possession of the precious conch shell Xbox One controller, a solution is presented: everyone can play the game on tablets inside the 2016 Chevy Traverse, which features built-in 4G LTE WiFi capable of supporting up to seven devices.
If you think it’s only kids who would be sold on built-in WiFi because they’re obsessed with a stupid game, clearly you’ve already forgotten about last year’s Super Bowl.
