Ford Takes Part in 2019 Pride Parade in Mexico City

Ford of Mexico took part in the 41st annual Pride Parade in Mexico City last month, marking the fifth year in a row that the Blue Oval has taken part in the celebration of the LGBTQ+ community in Mexico. Ford was the sole automaker represented at the parade, which drew tens of thousands of participants to the Mexican capital city.
“At Ford, we are committed to generating an environment of diversity and inclusion, full of security, and trust, where we can be ourselves and our differences are valued. Our doors are open to all talents alike,” said Fernanda Ramos, director of Human Resources, Ford of Mexico.

In 2017, Ford became the first automaker to earn a spot on the Human Rights Campaign’s Equidad MX Report, the Mexico-specific version of its annual Corporate Equality Index. Ford was one of just 32 companies to make the inaugural list, and it followed up that distinction in the 2019 list. Ford also earned a perfect score in HRC’s Corporate Equality Index every year from 2004-2018.
Ford of Mexico is a part of Ford GLOBE, the committee dedicated to promoting equality and inclusivity for all LGBTQ+ Ford employees across the globe. Ford GLOBE also offers membership to allies, with membership extended to anyone who attends an event. Ford GLOBE operates 11 chapters around the world, including chapters in Mexico, Germany, Asia Pacific, and the United States, and celebrates its 25th anniversary in 2019. The group was founded in 1994 when Alice McKeage and Rob Mantras sent a letter to then Ford CEO Alex Trotman encouraging a conversation about LGBTQ+ issues in the workplace.
