This Sunday, the 2019 NASCAR season comes to a close at Homestead-Miami Speedway with the crowning of a Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series champion at the Ford EcoBoost 400. It’ll be the perfect little bow on Ford Championship weekend, which also includes the NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series Ford EcoBoost 200 on Friday and NASCAR XFINITY Series Ford EcoBoost 300 on Saturday.

Given that it’s Ford Championship Weekend, it’s quite appropriate that a kickass Ford will be pacing each of the three races that weekend. On Friday, a Ford F-150 sets the pace for the Ford EcoBoost 200; on Saturday, the high-performance Ford Explorer ST sets the pace for the Ford EcoBoost 300; and on Sunday, the all-new Mustang Shelby GT500 sets the pace for the Ford EcoBoost 400.

“Ford Championship Weekend has always been one of the highlights of the year for Ford,” said Rob Johnston, global marketing manager, Ford Performance. “This is our opportunity to give race fans who attend in person a truly immersive experience with our vehicle lineup while those watching at home get to see three of the most popular vehicles on the road today at the front of the field.”

The weekend’s events will also be meaningful in that they’ll be the last at Homestead-Miami Speedway. Starting in 2020, the series finale moves to ISM Raceway in Phoenix.

“With the NASCAR schedule changing next year and the season-finale moving to Phoenix, this will be the 18th and final Ford Championship Weekend at Homestead,” added Johnston. “It’s been a tremendous event for us to interact with the NASCAR fan base all these years, and we want to give them one more great weekend with great products and great racing.”

Ford will have quite a bit more skin in the game than just its branding on the weekend’s events and its vehicles setting the pace for the races. On Friday, ThorSport Racing’s Matt Crafton will have his shot at earning Ford a series championship in the NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series. In the NASCAR XFINITY Series finale, Cole Custer will look to follow up his 2018 owner’s championship for Stewart-Haas Racing with a title of his own. And in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series Championship, Kevin Harvick enters his fifth Championship 4 in six years and looks to wrap up his 15th win with Ford and second career title.
