Ford is UK’s Best-Selling Auto Brand for 39th Year
Ford attained its 39th consecutive year as the leading automaker in the UK in 2015 by growing its market share and outpacing industry sales growth in total vehicle sales, car sales, and commercial vehicle sales. With a full-year car sales totaling 335,267 units registered and total CV sales up 22.9% at a total of 106,365 vehicles, Ford remains the go-to brand for new vehicle buyers of all stripes in the United Kingdom.
“Ford has consistently provided UK customers with the most appealing vehicle range and the best after-sales support, supplied through the strongest dealer network,” said Andy Barratt, Ford of Britain Chairman and Managing Director. “This year has seen a transformation across the network with 57 new flagship FordStores now open representing a combined investment of over £50 million by these dealers.
“We aim to reinforce our sales lead in 2016, after very encouraging results in November and December that saw Ford exceed overall sales growth in all sectors of the market,” he added.
Registrations for the Ford Fiesta totaled 133,434 units in 2015, putting its sales 41,357 units and 1.6 market share percentage points ahead of the nearest competitor for the title of best-selling car in the UK.
