Genesis Motor America recorded its second successful month of the new year with a 4 percent February sales increase.
For the month, Genesis sold 1,587 vehicles in the U.S., an improvement on the 1,528 it sold in February 2019.
For the first two months of 2020, Genesis has sold 2,752 units, 8.5 percent ahead of where it was at the same time a year ago.
“In February, we again achieved a year-over-year sales increase and received more than 6,000 pre-orders for the all-new GV80,” said Mark Del Rosso, the president and CEO of Genesis Motor North America.

The luxury brand’s bestselling vehicle for February was the G70 compact sedan. This model sold 841 units for the month, a 2.7 percent increase over the same month a year ago.
The G80 midsize sedan was down from its 2019 numbers, selling 457 units for a 14.2 percent decrease.
The recently redesigned G90 full-size sedan made the month’s biggest gains for Genesis. It sold 289 units for a whopping 64.2 percent increase.
Genesis is hoping for a significant sales boost later this year from a pair of its models. The G80 sedan is debuting this month with a complete redesign. Soon after that, the brand’s first-ever SUV, the GV80, will arrive at dealerships.
As Genesis mounts a sales comeback, it’s turning to a variety of ways to get the word out about its vehicles. In February, the brand was a sponsor of the Genesis Invitational PGA Tour golf event for the fourth straight year. During this event, Genesis had the opportunity to showcase the GV80 in front of a large audience and build excitement for the SUV’s debut.
