About the study
Geotab evaluated 50 road trips in coming up with its rankings. Using data from TripAdvisor, it analyzed routes based on criteria such as attractions, dining, and accommodations. The Geotab team also considered the length of the trips as well as average traffic conditions encountered along the routes.
Out of the 50 road trips Geotab reviewed, the average journey length was five days. The longest two trips, Route 66 and The Best of California, spanned 14 days. The shortest two trips, Maryland’s Historic National Road and Lake Champlain Byway, took just two days to complete.
The list also indicated that the Blue Ridge Parkway and The All-American Acadia Byway had the best accommodations. Additionally, those concerned with traffic should try Monument Valley Trails, which had the lowest traffic levels of the 50 routes.
