The 26-year-old has started 66 races in NASCAR’s XFINITY series. In those 66 starts, Jeffrey Earnhardt has led all of 7 laps and has never finished inside of the top-ten at any track.
The September 12th event at Richmond is the first race to feature two Earnhardts since Dale Jr. and Jeffrey’s father, Kerry, both competed in the fall race at Talladega in 2005.
Jeffrey Earnhardt will be racing for the Go Green Racing team and his racecar will be sponsored by CorvetteParts.Net, which is owned by TJ Keen.
Jeffrey’s grandfather, the late Dale Earnhardt Sr, won 76 races in NASCAR’s premier series and was also a seven-time series champion.
Jeffrey thanked his uncle, Dale Earnhardt Jr., for helping him get ready for the upcoming race at Richmond.
“He was a really big help when I got to participate in an Xfinity race in a JR Motorsports car two years ago, (Richmond 2013),” Earnhardt told NBC Sports. “He helped me actually learn how to get around Richmond.”
