Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week is Très Chic
Until a couple years ago, I thought that it was perfectly acceptable to wear brown and black together and owned nothing but tee shirts and cargo shorts. In fact, I wore a graphic Dr. Pepper tee in my senior pictures. (Mom was thrilled.) Needless to say, I am no expert on fashion.
Luckily, Mercedes-Benz has quite a different fashion background. Every year, the luxury automaker hosts the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week, which is the international site for latest developments in the fashion industry. It only makes sense that the world’s most attractive cars would play host to the world’s most attractive fashion.
This year, the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week will kick off on September 5, 2013, and will run through September 12, in New York City, center-stage at the Lincoln Center.
So just what happens at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week (other than a lot of “Girl, that is so vintage! Très belle.”)? Christina Neault, Executive Producer, IMG Fashion Events and properties, explained the event in detail in the press release:
“Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week truly embodies the global scale of the fashion industry and highlights the limitless boundaries of design. A leader in the global fashion event circuit; Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in New York has the highest number of international designers who choose to make this Event the home for their Collection debuts. As well, with three fashion schools and numerous emerging designers presenting alongside their established colleagues, Lincoln Center is the place to discover the next rising star.”
A large number of world-renowned designers will be in attendance (although I’m told that Fruit of the Loom won’t be able to make it this year). Below is an entirely too comprehensive list of those who will be in attendance. (Don’t worry, I’ve only heard of three of them too.)

I may not know much about high fashion, but here are a few of my favorite Mercedes-Benz models to drool over.
Don’t forget to tune in for the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week this September, and for the love of God, take off that sweater. It is so two seasons ago.
