When you think Mercedes-Benz, you probably think of luxury vehicles. What you probably don’t think of are glasses. However, working with German eyewear specialist Rodenstock, Mercedes-Benz has crafted a line of sunglasses and corrective lenses. According to a Mercedes-Benz press release, the upcoming Autumn/Winter line will feature newly developed materials and shapes.

Wood-effect glasses will be introduced in the next wave of Mercedes frames. The glasses integrate a wood-acetate rim with stainless steel arms. The acetate frame ensures that moisture and temperatures do not damage the glasses.

The combination of the wood-effect frame and lightweight arms also increases the longevity of the glasses. The wood-acetate frame glasses will be available as both sunglasses and corrective glasses.

Other glasses in the line use a combination of materials and an ultralight polyamide to create a clean and luxurious design. The design is meant to reflect the styling of all Mercedes-Benz products.

The Autumn/Winter line of Mercedes-Benz/Rodenstock glasses will feature five overall styles of sunglasses and correction lens frames. The eyewear line will be available through select specialist retailers beginning in September.
