Carpool Karaoke White HouseThese next two weeks are going to be full of politics as we hop from the Republican National Convention in Cleveland to the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia. With these events comes the endless flow of news, speeches, and political posturing that is sure to make your brain boil at least once. While America looks to the future residents of the White House, The Late Late Show with James Corden is getting ready to get up close and personal with one of its current occupants, First Lady Michelle Obama.

That’s right, Michelle Obama is going to be in the next Carpool Karaoke segment, airing this Wednesday on CBS, and it looks like it will be a fun ride through the windy tracks and roads around the White House. The preview clips seem to all show the same immaculately green lawn and a few guardhouses in the background, so it looks like this segment will be fairly easy driving for our host.

If the Secret Service does let Corden take Obama off of the property, we hope that she shows him some of the cool things that Washington DC has to offer, like the monuments, museums, and restaurants of the capital. Although, if she does take him out for lunch, hopefully she doesn’t choose Washington favorites like Ben’s Chili Bowl or Five Guys. We don’t want a day of scrolling through Twitter seeing people calling her out on eating an unhealthy lunch when she promotes healthy food in her agenda (someone needs to teach them about ‘sometimes foods’).

Michelle Obama Turnip For What

The preview clip suggests that the ride will feature fun dance hits from Beyoncé and other music superstars. It’s too bad that the segment was probably filmed weeks ago, because after yesterday at the Republican National Convention, Mrs. Obama might want change her playlist. Perhaps songs sued for copying, like Robin Thicke’s “Blurred Lines,” or Vanilla Ice’s “Ice Ice Baby,” or even the classic hit “Never Gonna Give You Up” by Rick Astley.

I can’t wait to see what songs the First Lady actually chose to sing along to after seven and a half years of not being able to listen to music in the car. When your ride is a huge bulletproof limo, I guess there is no room for fun and games while you’re on the road.
