New Skyline Sedan with ProPILOT 2.0 System Debuts from Nissan
Nissan is adept at creating cutting-edge technologies for the stylish vehicles in its lineup. Now, with its latest reveal, the new Skyline sedan, Nissan has outdid one of its most advanced technologies, ProPILOT Assist, with the introduction of ProPILOT 2.0.
The driver assistance system works in two ways — navigation guidance while you’re travelling on the highway and “hands-off single-lane driving capabilities.” A 7-inch Advanced Drive Assist Display is positioned in the cabin’s center stack to give drivers a clear view and understanding of the innovative driver assist system.
The first Nissan Skyline made its mark in the industry in 1957. This latest generation will hit Japan dealerships in the fall.
“The Skyline is a symbol of Nissan technology, and at 62 years, it has the longest history of any Nissan model,” said Asako Hoshino, Nissan executive vice president. “With the latest advanced technologies, including ProPILOT 2.0, the new Skyline offers customers an even more exciting and confident driving experience.”
Drivers in Japan can choose between a hybrid version of the new Skyline or a 3.0-liter V6 twin-turbo gasoline engine-equipped model. A heads-up display equipped with full-color is a signature feature of the hybrid version. Four trim levels — GT, GT Type P, GT Type SP, and 400R — are available. The highest trim, the Nissan Skyline 400R, is equipped with a powertrain rated at 400 horsepower.
The four-circle combination lamps on the new Skyline honor the original design of the model. The new model’s lamps, however, boast full-LED technology. Drivers can choose from 10 exterior colors to make the sleek sedan stand out.
