2016 Nissan Titan XD

Nissan put it all on the line when it introduced the Nissan Titan XD. This bigger truck puts the automaker in competition with the more traditional truck manufacturers like Ford and General Motors. As the awards for 2016 models are announced, we bet that the Nissan front office is starting to breathe a bit better now that the Titan XD is being recognized by national publications. For instance, AutoGuide.com has just named the all-new 2016 Nissan Titan XD its Truck of the Year.

The award was deliberated on by a committee of the website’s editors. On its way to the top, the Titan XD climbed over the Toyota Tacoma and GMC Canyon equipped with a diesel engine. The editors were impressed with the Titan’s 555 lb-ft of torque and the truck’s ability to be both comfortable and capable of heavy-duty work.

This award from AutoGuide.com is added to recognition from Cars.com and PickupTrucks.com. In a major coup, the Texas Auto Writers Association (TAWA) also named the Nissan Titan XD this year’s “Truck of Texas”.

Fred Diaz, the division vice president and general manager of North America Trucks and Light Commercial Vehicles, Nissan North America, Inc. stated that “The TITAN XD is off to a strong sales start in its first month of availability. Recognition by leading independent testers such as AutoGuide.com helps validate our efforts in bringing another strong choice to America’s full-size truck enthusiasts.”

Now that the Nissan Titan XD is available in dealerships, we can’t wait to see how it performs against the more established models.
