Nissan Tweets Mysterious Race Car Photo, Presumably in Bruce Wayne’s Bat Cave
Just after noon today, Nissan tweeted this mysterious picture with the text “A new era is about to begin.”
Either they’re revealing a new race car prototype, or they’ve entered into some odd product placing agreement with Warner Bros. for the new Batman film. Notice the uncanny resemblance to Bruce Wayne’s Bat Cave as depicted Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight trilogy:
We’re going to go ahead and assume that both are true.
The race car pictured is likely a new prototype for Le Mans. In last year’s 2014 Hours of Le Mans race, Nissan entered the delta-shaped ZEOD RC hybrid electric race car that also kind of looks like a Batmobile. Coincidence? Probably not.
The ZEOD RC made history at Le Mans by completing the first all-electric lap and reached a speed of over 300 km/h.
The race car that they’re teasing in this tweet is due to be revealed during the Super Bowl and is likely the Nissan GT-R LM NISMO, which will race in the LMP1 class. Rumors about the car claim that it will be a front-mid engined setup, which would be the first time an LMP-1 class car has used this engine setup since the early 2000s.
We’ll enjoy our last couple of days of speculation before the big reveal on Sunday, though, and assume that Bruce Wayne will be driving it in the next Batman film.
