Today marks 14 years since the pilot of One Tree Hill aired on the WB Network. And with the show being removed from Netflix next week, many fans are looking back on the series. As a fan of the core five, I decided to take a look at the cars they drive throughout the series. Several of them drive more than one vehicle during the series’ run, but these are their most notable vehicles.
Ford Fusion: Three Reasons to Buy
Lucas Scott’s 1967 Ford Mustang Fastback
At the beginning of the series, Lucas drives a 1985 Jeep Grand Cherokee, but it doesn’t stick around for too long. Later in the show, Lucas picks up his classic red 1967 Ford Mustang Fastback. The Mustang is featured in several scenes; he even loans it to Haley and Nathan after their wedding in the season three finale. The couple drives the Mustang onto the bridge where they meet Rachel and Cooper as they drive the wedding limo off the bridge.
Nathan Scott’s 2004 Ford Mustang Convertible
Nathan drives several cars throughout the series, but the most memorable is the attempted-bribe from his father, Dan. During a custody battle between Dan and Deb, Dan brings home a convertible 2004 Ford Mustang in an attempt to win over his son’s affections. Spoiler alert: it doesn’t work.
Peyton Sawyer’s 1963 Mercury Comet Convertible
Appearing consistently throughout the series, Peyton’s car has been there from the very first scene. Peyton’s 1963 Mercury Comet is more of a character than a car; it always brings Lucas and Peyton together when they’ve managed to drift apart. The classic car even inspires the title for Lucas’ second novel, The Comet.
Haley James’ Land Rover Range Rover Sport
Funny enough, Haley isn’t seen driving a car at all until the post-high school seasons. At the beginning of season five, we are introduced to her new ride: a Range Rover Sport. The Range Rover makes several appearances throughout the series, but there isn’t too much emphasis on the vehicle itself.
Brooke Davis’ 2003 Volkswagen Beetle Convertible
Brooke Davis’ car shows up several times throughout the One Tree Hill high school era; she drives a light blue convertible 2003 Volkswagen Beetle. The Beetle’s most notable appearances throughout the series include Peyton, Brooke, and Haley’s road trip home from the away game and Mouth throwing a brick through Brooke’s windshield. Later in the series, Brooke trades in her Beetle for a 2007 BMW X5.
