Despite getting canceled in the United States, the Buick LaCrosse lives on in China. For the 2020 model year, Chinese auto buyers will have the opportunity to buy a refreshed version of the full-size sedan — including the luxury Avenir trim.

Buick’s changes to the 2020 LaCrosse Avenir are designed to give it a more distinct personality compared to the vehicle’s lower trims. These tweaks include higher-quality materials, specialized paints and exclusive detailing.

On the outside, the LaCrosse Avenir features a new grille with a knitted diamond design, slimmer headlamps and narrowed, curved taillights. The car’s rear bumper sports a new integrated dual-exhaust design. The model also offers a new Earl Purple paint color, crown-like 19-inch wheels, and an Avenir logo on the outside of the front door.

Tire Tips: How to care for them and when to replace them

The interior of the LaCrosse Avenir is characterized by additional leather trim, high-quality fabric linings, and three-dimensional diamond design elements on the door panels, instrument panels, and seats.

Like other 2020 LaCrosse models, the LaCrosse Avenir carries a new 2.0-liter engine that delivers 237 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. This engine is paired with a new nine-speed automatic transmission. Key available features include a Continuous Damping Control active suspension, QuietTuning technology, a head-up display, and a Bose Centerpoint premium sound system.

Buick points out that when LaCrosse Avenir buyers come in to the brand’s dealerships for service, they can get their cars serviced at exclusive repair bays designed for Avenir models. Avenir customers also have access to special services like deep interior cleaning, airport pickup, and roadside rescue.
