We all try to stay as positive as possible when going about day-to-day life, but man, there are just some days where you roll out of bed and look out into the dismal gray landscape that is your city and you think what the hell am I doing and why does it even matter anyway?
And then there are days where you roll out of bed and look out into the dismal gray landscape that is your city and you think what the hell am I doing and why does it even matter anyway, but then you open up Chrome and hop over to Jalopnik and oh my god would you just look at this van.
The 1978 GMC G15 Vandura Star Trek “Boogie” Van is the life-affirming event that we all hope for. Listed on Craigslist for sale out of East Vancouver, this might be one of the most honest and well-thought-out internet listings we’ve ever seen in addition to being the most awesome.
This “boogie” van features an incredibly far-out exterior, done up by Canadian artist G.S. Roy to feature alien landscapes, the starship Enterprise, the visages of three of her crew members on the hoods, and…Spock crouching behind a topless woman for some reason. Unfortunately, the seller is not the original owner, so there as to no clear explanation as to exactly why that is a thing.
It wouldn’t be a proper boogie van without a ridiculously cushy interior, and this G15 Vandura delivers in spades with “Red Velvet” upholstery, icebox, curtained-in bed, and even a backup camera.
With only 15,000 miles and no observable mechanical problems, this life-affirming Star Trek van can be yours at the paltry price of $9,500. If you’re the sort who drags out of bed every morning wondering just what their place in the wide world is, this van ought to make finding out the answer to that particular question just a little bit easier.
