Watch the MX-5 Cup Opener Online
It’s an exciting time to be a fan of Mazda Motorsports. The Global MX-5 Cup season opener will be held at the Racetrack of the Americas in Austin, Texas. If you want to re-live the action, or your schedule is tied up, you can catch both races after they air live at the official Mazda USA YouTube channel.
Thrills and innovations
You won’t want to miss out on the action. According to feedback from spectators, competitors, and Mazda racers, the Global MX-5 Cup showcases some of the most exciting racing that you can see in North America. When you tune in, you’ll be able to catch the debut of the new Global MX-5 Cup car, powered by the 181-horsepower SKYACTIV-G engine — like the one you’ll find in the 2019 Mazda Miata MX-5.
There’s bound to be some close calls, too. Last year, Bryan Ortiz won the first race, while rookie Selin Rollan narrowly beat him out on the second race.
“Those racers not only benefit from the support of all of our series partners, but also from the support of the executive staff at Mazda North American Operations. I’m confident that our racers will put on a show that will be enjoyed not only by the spectators at the track, but by fans watching online around the world,” said John Doonan, the director of Mazda Motorsports.
Catch the first race live on MazdaMotorsports.com at Saturday, March 23 at 3:30 p.m. ET and the second one on Sunday, March 24 at 9:05 p.m. ET.
