The midsize 2019 Buick LaCrosse sedan is the brand’s most fuel-efficient vehicle. Connected to a six-speed automatic transmission, the LaCrosse’s standard 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine features eAssist electrification technology. This enables the LaCrosse to achieve 25 mpg in the city, 35 mpg on the highway, and 29 mpg combined. The LaCrosse also offers an optional 3.6-liter V6 engine that gets 20 mpg in the city, 30 mpg on the highway, and 24 mpg combined.

Buick’s most efficient SUV is the 2019 Encore. This subcompact crossover can be equipped with an available 1.4-liter turbo engine that’s built with SIDI and Stop/Start technology and paired with a six-speed automatic transmission. With this powertrain, FWD Encore models get 26 mpg in the city, 31 mpg on the highway, and 28 mpg combined. AWD models get 1 mpg less in each situation.

The Encore’s standard engine isn’t far behind. Another 1.4-liter turbo, it gives FWD Encore models 25 mpg in the city, 30 mpg on the highway, and 27 mpg combined. Models equipped with AWD lose 1 mpg.

The 2019 Buick Regal Sportback is marketed more on the basis of its sleek, sophisticated looks and energetic performance. It offers pretty solid fuel economy, too. Carrying a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine connected to a nine-speed automatic, the Regal Sportback gets 22 mpg in the city, 32 mpg on the highway, and 26 mpg combined. AWD models get 21 city mpg, 29 highway mpg, and 24 combined mpg.

A bit bigger than the Encore crossover, the 2019 Buick Envision is no gas guzzler. It’s outfitted with a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine and a six-speed automatic transmission, a setup that yields 22 mpg in the city, 29 mpg on the highway, and 25 mpg combined. AWD models lag behind a bit, offering 21 mpg in the city, 27 mpg on the highway, and 24 mpg combined.
