2018 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV

All-new for the 2018 model year, the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV is already taking the SUV market by storm. Combining the space and convenience of a traditional SUV with the eco-friendly power of a hybrid, the Outlander PHEV is a dominating force.

To celebrate the Outlander PHEV’s rise straight to success, the New England Motor Press Association named the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV the “Best Green Winter Vehicle” for 2018. The vehicles in the running for this award were evaluated based on several months of data, collected throughout the New England region. Members of the New England Motor Press Association tested the vehicles over several months, focusing on winter-specific features like all-wheel drive and traction capabilities.

“The all-new 2018 Outlander PHEV, a halo vehicle for the brand, offers both fuel efficiency and rugged capabilities,” said Mitsubishi in a press release. Mitsubishi also pointed part of its success to the brand’s Super All-Wheel Control system, which helps the Outlander PHEV improve its traction in the harshest of weather conditions. The Outlander PHEV also incorporates several built-in safety features such as Traction Control Logic and Active Stability Control. Driver-assist features like Lane Change Assist and Blind Spot Warning with Rear Cross Traffic Alert help drivers prevent accidents altogether.

Other standard winter weather perks on the 2018 Outlander PHEV include de-icers on the front and rear windshields, heated side mirrors, and heated front seats. The upgraded trim comes with a heated steering wheel, as well. All of these features contributed to the evaluation process, helping the Outlander PHEV earn its title as the “Best Green Winter Vehicle.”
