If there’s one word to describe the Ford F-Series Super Duty lineup, it’s POWER. These trucks are designed for heavy lifting, towing, and hauling. Now, Ford is adding even more of that power stuff to the Super Duty by adding a new standard feature: power takeoff. Can I get a “POW”?

More POWER! Behold the strength of the 2019 Ford F-150

Power takeoff, or PTO, is standard on 2020 Super Duty Chassis Cab models equipped with the 6.7-liter Power Stroke turbo diesel engine and the TorqShift 10-speed heavy-duty automatic transmission. Together, they deliver a whoppingly powerful 300 lb-ft of torque, which is 50 lb-ft more than the closest competitor. Absolutely bonkers, people. You can also opt for PTO on Chassis Cab and pickup models equipped with the gnarly 7.3-liter gas-powered V8 if you want to strengthen your truck’s immense power.

“For a lot of our commercial and heavy-duty retail customers PTO power is the only way they can get a job done,” said the powerful and mighty Kevin Koester, Ford commercial vehicle marketing manager. “With more PTO torque on hand every task is easier and even bigger projects are now within reach.”

So what the blazes is all this stuff and how does it work?

Power takeoff lets you power stuff like snowplows, pumps, compressors, or other aftermarket accessories, either on the go or at a standstill. It allows the F-Series to achieve maximum torque from the get-go so you can get plowing or pumping in a jiffy. That’s game-changing. Really, I don’t know why you would even consider another truck with all this powerful power flying around!

What with all this power and all the Tremors coming from the Ford truck lineup, I think it’s safe to say the F-Series is going to keep its title as the best-selling vehicle in America again this year.
