The 2022 Chevy Silverado ZR2 offers a unique squid plate package, functional flow tie, Multimatic DSSV dampers, 33-inch off-road MT tires, and high-approach steel front bumper that delivers a 31-degree approach angle. Its suspension upgrades and updated off-road technology allows easy maneuvering over rocks and deserts without sacrificing your comfort on and off-road.
A standard 6.2-liter V8 engine pairs to a 10-speed automatic transmission to generate 420 horsepower. When properly equipped, the 2022 Silverado ZR2 has a maximum payload of 1,440 pounds and an 8,900-pound conventional trailer weight rating.
Exterior elements including a signature grille with integrated lighting, a new black hood insert, and ZR2 badging offer a distinct style. Inside, you’ll appreciate the look and feel of the Jet Black/Graystone leather-trimmed interior with dark trim, a theme exclusive to the 2022 Silverado ZR2.
“At Chevrolet, our motorsports philosophy is ‘sell what you race, and race what you sell.’ Competing in off-road racing puts our trucks and performance parts through extreme levels of abuse that most trucks will never encounter,” said Dom Lester, General Motors chief engineer for Performance Variants, Parts, and Motorsports Engineering. “The Silverado ZR2 is a perfect example of how that strategy delivers. We applied what we learned with Chad Hall’s experience in the prototype race truck to the production truck customers buy in the showroom.”
The Silverado ZR2 race truck has competed in 10 off-road races since 2019.
