If the word coming from Jalopnik is any indication, Detroit is currently not the best place to try to park your car. More than 5,200 journalists are present at this year’s NAIAS, making it difficult for folks to find parking spots (we assume that’s even with the help of Parkmobile and Parkopedia). Perhaps they should have considered utilizing the partnership of Cadillac and Uber, who have teamed up to offer on-demand private driver services in and around Detroit during the Auto Show proceedings up until the doors open to the public on Saturday, January 18.

Those special attendees who have the Uber app on their smartphone can call for a private driver who will roll up in not just any vehicle, but in their choice of a 2014 Cadillac SRX or Escalade. Rides are limited to 15 minutes and will cover any destination within the Downtown, Corktown, and Midtown areas. Oh, and did we mention that it’s a free service?

“Cadillac’s partnership with Uber gives auto show attendees the opportunity to experience a new Cadillac vehicle,” said Melody Lee, director, brand and reputation strategy for Global Cadillac. “Both Cadillac and Uber are known for remaking the rules when it comes to technology and service.”

In order to request a ride, users must open their Uber app and select the Cadillac option, then choose a pickup location, and tap “Request.” To help spread the word, those who use the service are encouraged to take to social media to share their experiences by using the #UberCadillac hashtag and mentioning Cadillac and Uber (@Cadillac and @Uber_Det, respectively). Additionally, by entering the promo code “Cadillac,” new users will get $20 off their first Uber Detroit ride.
