Chevrolet Sales Continue to Rise in January
Chevrolet had a huge 2014 in the United States. If January is any indication, things are only going to get bigger in 2015.
Chevrolet sold 142,882 vehicles in January, up 20% from 2014 and good for the Chevy’s best sales mark for the month since 2008.
As has been the trend for so long, pickup trucks and SUVs were big movers in January, and Chevrolet’s lineup benefitted greatly from this movement. The Silverado was up 24.8% with 36,106 total units sold, and the all-new Colorado racked up an impressive 5,942 sales in only its fifth month on the market.
Sales of the Tahoe were up 88% with 6,607 vehicles, Traverse was up 89% with 10,151 units sold, Suburban was up 142% with 4,130 units sold, and Equinox was up 34% with 19,555 vehicles sold.
Surprisingly, in a month that is typically not fortuitous for cars, both the Chevy Cruze and Spark experienced their best January ever. The Cruze, fresh off of a record-breaking 2014, was up 11% with sales totaling 18,693 vehicles. Spark’s sales totaled 3,170 units, good for a 71.5% year-over-year increase.
