Chevy Offers New Midnight Special Editions for Its Popular Truck Lineup
Sales of Chevrolet trucks rose by 27% last year and that number might increase even more in 2016, as Chevy has just introduced new additions to its Midnight Special Edition series.

Truck buyers couldn’t get enough of the 2016 Silverado 2500 HD Z71 Midnight Edition when it became available back in September of 2015. Recognizing the demand for these special edition trucks, Chevy has added Midnight Editions for the 2016 Colorado Z71 and the Silverado 1500 Z71. These new additions mean consumers can order a midsize, light-duty, or heavy duty version of Chevy’s special black trucks.
If you opt for a Midnight Edition truck, then your Chevrolet will come equipped with an off-road suspension, locking rear differential, transfer case shield, and Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac all-terrain tires. The exterior of the vehicle will also feature black Chevrolet bowties, black painted alloy wheels, a spray-in bedliner, and special Z71 badges in the doors. The grille, fog lamps, tow hooks, and bumper will come in black too.
“We introduced several special-edition trucks in 2015 – each combining equipment and appearance packages designed for specific enthusiasts in mind,” said Chevrolet Truck Marketing Director Sandor Piszar. “They clearly resonated with buyers, as the special editions sold in one-third the time, and to younger, more affluent buyers than the industry average.
“The Silverado 1500 Midnight was by far the most popular model in 2015,” Piszar added, “as demand outstripped supply in a matter of months. It only made sense to expand our special-edition offerings for 2016, including new Midnight editions.”
Besides the new Midnight models, Chevy offers other special edition trucks such as the Colorado Trail Boss, Silverado Realtree, and Silverado Special Ops. Chevrolet is set to announce even more special edition trucks later in 2016.
