Genesis has released additional details about the upcoming G70 sport sedan, which will feature a full redesign and new technologies for the 2022 model year.

A Fresh Look and More: Take a sneak peek at some top new features for the 2022 Genesis G70

Among exterior changes, the G70 is the latest Genesis vehicle to receive a new crest-shaped grille and the brand’s thin, horizontal Quad Lamp headlights. The model’s flanks show off the signature Genesis parabolic line, an air extractor behind the front wheel, and four new wheel designs. The rear features Quad Lamp taillights, a body-colored diffuser, and dual exhaust tips. Customers can choose from 14 paint colors, including five new options.

The interior of the 2022 Genesis G70 receives a new windshield and door glass for a quieter ride. Overall, the layout is more driver-focused than before, incorporating a new 10.25-inch touch-screen system and a bigger instrument cluster. Infotainment features include Genesis CarPay, voice recognition, car-to-home and home-to-car connectivity, and over-the-air navigation updates. Genesis Digital Key and upgraded wireless charging are offered as options.

The 2022 G70 comes fully stocked with advanced safety features. Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist, Lane Following Assist, Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist, Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist, and Smart Cruise Control are among the highlights.

Despite earlier reports that the G70 would be getting a new standard powertrain, engine choices are carrying over from the previous model year. The base option remains a 2.0-liter turbo inline-four that makes 252 horsepower. The G70 also continues to offer an available 3.3-liter twin-turbo V6 that puts out 365 horsepower. Both engines pair with an eight-speed automatic transmission. V6 models can be equipped with a new variable exhaust valve system and upgraded AWD with drift mode.

Once the 2022 G70 arrives at dealerships next year, the entire Genesis lineup will have a new look. The larger G80 and G90 sedans both received redesigns for 2021. The brand’s sedans will have fresh company as well: the all-new GV80 SUV and the upcoming GV70 SUV.
