Ford in November became the first automaker to pick up the International Van of the Year and International Pickup Award in the same year on two different occasions. Following up its feat from 2013, Ford swept the annual awards with the Transit Custom Hybrid picking up the IVOTY 2020 award and the Ranger winning the IPUA 2020.

The Ford Transit Custom Plug-In Hybrid and Transit Custom EcoBlue Hybrid one-ton shared the top prize for vans, earning wide praise from a panel of 25 European journalists. The runner-up for the award, conveniently enough, was the Transit EcoBlue Hybrid two-ton. The win marks six times now that Ford has taken the top prize in the IVOTY awards.

The new Ranger wowed 18 jurors to earn its title, earning high praise for its efficient 2.0-liter EcoBlue diesel engine and the performance of the all-new Ranger Raptor.

“Our new Transit Custom Plug-In Hybrid and EcoBlue Hybrid models are the right vehicles at the right time — helping our customers reduce costs and emissions and meeting the challenges of operating in today’s business environment without sacrificing practicality or payload. And our new Ranger is raising the bar for refinement, technology and productivity in the pick-up segment,” said Hans Schep, general manager, Commercial Vehicles, Ford of Europe.

Through 11 months, Ford remains the No. 1 commercial vehicle seller in all of Europe. Through October, Ranger stands as the top pickup in Europe with sales totaling 43,300, while sales of the Transit Custom family total 114,000.
