There are few vehicles on the road as hot as the Shelby GT350 Mustang, and things are looking to only get hotter for the 2017 model year.

Ford announced this week that the 2017 Shelby GT350 Mustang will indeed be adding the Track Package as standard equipment as well as two new available packages, three new colors, and an available audio system upgrade.

This confirms rumors that first emerged in February when a Mustang6G forums user found all of the aforementioned changes outlined in the Ford eSourceBook.

Ford says that the changes were made as a means to allow Shelby GT350 buyers to get more out of their purchases.

“Ford Performance is always listening to customer feedback,” said Dave Pericak, global director, Ford Performance. “At the end of last year we started offering a back seat option for Shelby GT350R due to customer demand. Now, we have adjusted the packages available to continue to provide more of what customers want on the Shelby GT350 Mustang.”

The Track Package adds an aluminum tower-to-tower brace; MagneRide damping system; high-downforce decklid spoiler; and cooling systems for engine oil, transmission, and differential. The 2017 model will also be offered with an Electronics Package and Convenience Package. The former will add SYNC 3, voice-activated navigation, and an upgraded nine-speaker audio system. The latter adds all of the features of the Electronics Package and leather-trimmed power sport seats.

The nine-speaker audio system upgrade will also be available with the R-Electronics Package for the Shelby GT350R.

It was also confirmed that the 2017 Shelby GT350 will drop Deep Impact Blue and Competition Orange in favor of Ruby Red Metallic, Lightning Blue, and Grabber Blue.
