Ford Motor Company and Ford dealers are stepping up once again in support of those who serve. Expanding on its Proud to Honor program and century-long support of vets, Ford will donate up to $3.5 million dollars to military charities like Disabled American Veterans and Workshops for Warriors by the end of the year.

Ford News: All-new 2021 F-150 is more capable, powerful than ever before

Through Dec. 31, Ford will donate $100 for every post on social media using #proudtohonor. It’s that simple. You post using the hashtag, Ford drops a Benjamin. The maximum amount of $3.5 million is being split among Ford’s seven favorite organizations for vets: Blue Star Families, the Boulder Crest Foundation, Bunker Labs, DAV, Guitars 4 Vets, the Oscar Mike Foundation, and Workshops for Warriors.

This endeavor is just Ford’s latest effort to help vets. In September, Ford launched its Proud to Honor merchandise line, pledging a minimum $10,000 in proceeds to both DAV and Blue Star Families. Ford also in September teamed with award-winning country music artist Luke Combs to pay tribute to vets and donate $25,000 worth of guitars to Guitars 4 Vets.

Ford launches Proud to Honor Hall of Heroes

In addition to its $3.5 million maximum donation, Ford is teaming with the Pro Football Hall of Fame to launch the Ford Proud to Honor Hall of Heroes. Kathy Roth-Douquet, the founder of Blue Star Families, is the inaugural inductee. To celebrate the achievement, Ford is pledging $10,000 in toys to the BSF Christmas Charity Drive for military families.

Roth-Douquet learned of her induction when Pro Football Hall of Famer Jim Kelly paid her a visit. Kevin Greene, another member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame and a 16-year veteran of the U.S. Army Reserve, has also been announced as a spokesman for the Ford Proud to Honor Hall of Heroes.

The Ford Proud to Honor initiative also includes a robust hiring program for vets. Ford employs an estimated 6,000 veterans today.
