Ford Motor Company is no stranger to breaking new ground, and it has done so once again by becoming the first auto brand to earn the Reader Recommended status from Good Housekeeping Reader Recommended. The Ford Kuga and Ford EcoSport both earned the honor with high satisfaction ratings among readers.

“We are incredibly proud to be the first automotive manufacturer to be Reader Recommended,” said Mandy Dean, Marketing Director, Ford of Britain. “It’s great to have EcoSport and Kuga, two very popular vehicles in our range, receive further validation from such an established and respected consumer voice, representing every day users.”

Good Housekeeping Reader Recommended products are determined by the Good Housekeeping Institute and by insights from readers of the magazine. The GHI’s Head of Testing compiles the institute’s trial results and reader input to determine if a product meets the Reader Recommended standard of excellence.

The Ford Kuga earned a very good/excellent rating from 98 percent of Good Housekeeping’s readers, and 96 percent said that they would recommend the Kuga to family or friends. The EcoSport was also quite impressive with very good/excellent ratings from 96 percent of GH’s readership and a 91 percent recommendation rate.

“It’s great to see a brand like Ford engaging in our rigorous Good Housekeeping testing program to ensure they’re providing the best quality for the ever-discerning consumer,” said Hearst U.K. Automotive Director Jim Chaudry.

The Ford EcoSport and Kuga represent two of the most popular vehicles Ford offers in the United Kingdom, helping propel SUV sales to over 60,000 vehicles. Since 2017, Ford has sold more than 37,000 EcoSport SUVs and 80,000 Kuga SUVs in the U.K.
