The Ford Puma Titanium X has a name that makes you think of an old-school arcade brawler or the further adventures of a popular animated series. It’s just sort of a banger of a name, and it’s fitting that it’s working for a crossover that’s pretty banging in its own right.

Making its debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show earlier this month, the Puma Titanium X is all sorts of fancy. It’s the first vehicle under the Blue Oval to get removable, washable seat covers and the first vehicle in the segment with lumbar massage seats. It’s got exclusive 18-inch 10-spoke Pearl Grey alloy wheels and unique gloss black finish on the outside and wood-style appliques and “contemporary fabric” door inserts on the inside. It’s very fancy, indeed.

Speaking of Fancy: The 2019 Ford Ranger is back, and it brought some good luxury with it

“We wanted Puma Titanium X to feel as welcoming and comfortable as being at home, so we used colors, finishes, and an overall interior execution that would reflect that environment,” said Sonja Vandenberk, chief designer, Color and Materials, Ford of Europe.

Wireless charging? Check. Ford SYNC 3? Check. A 10-speaker B&O Sound System? Check. Under the hood, the Puma Titanium X blends performance and efficiency by pairing the 1.0-liter EcoBoost three-cylinder with an 11.5-kilowatt belt-driver integrated starter and generator and a 48-volt lithium-ion battery pack.

Luxury and intelligence aside, the new Puma Titanium X — that name just rolls right off the tongue, donnit? — offers best-in-class storage space with 16.1 cubic feet behind the second row. The Puma Titanium X also offers a Ford MegaBox that can accommodate two upright golf bags and first-in-segment hands-free tailgate.

Practicality? Style? Luxury? Tech? A cool-ass name? X gon’ give it to ya. Let’s hope that Ford gon’ give it — and by it, we mean the Ford Puma Titanium X — to drivers in the U.S.
