Ford Motor Company has announced the appointment of Randy Krieger to the role of president of Direct Markets, which will see him overseeing more then 80 distributor markets throughout the regions of North Africa, Sub-Saharan Africa, Asia Pacific Emerging Markets, and the Middle East.

Krieger has been employed with Ford since 1986, holding various key roles in marketing, finance, and dealer operations over his three-plus decades with the company. Prior to taking on the new role, he was the marketing and sales director for Ford Association of Southeast Asian Nations. Previous positions include a stint as president of Ford Japan and Ford Philippines, and he was integral to Ford’s growth of China during the early days of Changan Ford by growing sales and dealer presence both about six-fold.

In his new role, Krieger reports to newly appointed Ford International Markets Group President Mark Ovenden. In March, Ford announced that Ovenden would oversee IMG in its formative stages and work toward the goal of making the group a reporting business unit by the start of 2020. IMG oversees 100 markets, including ASEAN, Africa, South Korea and several emerging and distributor markets.

“Randy brings a wealth of experience and insight, in monumentally diverse markets, to Ford’s Direct Markets operations,” Ovenden said. “With a new structure, we will be able to better meet the needs of our distributor partners and our shared business.”

Krieger holds an MBA in finance from the University of Memphis. He will relocate to Dubai in August and begin his role thereafter.
