Ford continues to thrive as the top brand in the country following a record month from the Ford F-Series Super Duty and the second-best April sales result on record for F-Series. Ford delivered 30,045 vehicles in Canada last month, down 1.2% year-over year.

“When Canada’s top-selling pickups set new records, it shows just how much consumers value Ford’s tough, smart, and capable trucks,” said Mark Buzzell, president and CEO, Ford Motor Company of Canada. “With the F-150 diesel arriving at dealerships soon, and a hybrid F-150 in the plans, truck customers will have even more choice and capability from Canada’s truck leader.”

On the whole, however, Ford’s truck sales were down 2.1% at 26,112 vehicles delivered. In addition to an 18% year-over-year increase in sales of the Super Duty, the Ford EcoSport saw its fifth straight month of sales growth since launch, the Explorer saw sales increase 10%, and Transit Connect sales increased 18%. For the Lincoln brand, Navigator saw its sales increase 113% and MKT sales increased 175%.

Ford car sales were up 5.4% at 3,933 vehicles delivered. Sales of the Mustang were up 26%, Focus was up 18%, Fusion was up 3%, and Taurus was up 5%.

Though it stands as the best-selling auto brand in Canada, Ford’s total sales are down 2.2% at 91,091 vehicles delivered through the first four months of 2018. Ford car sales are ostensibly flat, down 0.8% at 10,665 vehicles delivered. Truck sales are down 2.4% at 80,416 vehicles delivered.
