Ford continued its trend of coming up big in the annual Middle East Car of the Year Awards with a four-fold victory. The Ford Expedition, Ford F-150, Ford Tourneo Custom, and Ford Mustang GT all topped their respective segments in the 2019 Middle East Car of the Year Awards, further establishing the Blue Oval as one of the Middle East’s top brands.

“We’re thrilled to see Ford’s heritage shine through during this year’s awards,” said Jamie Rae, Marketing director of Ford Middle East. “The Mustang, F-150, Tourneo Custom and Expedition are four of the most important nameplates for Ford — and these underpin our continued drive to deliver the kind of vehicles customers in the region demand.”

The new Ford Expedition, which boasts a Sand mode for the Terrain Management System™ that was developed and tested in the region, earned the title of 2019 Large SUV of the Year. The legendary Ford Mustang GT took home the title of Performance Coupe of the Year, the Ford F-150 was named 2019 Truck of the Year, and the Ford Tourneo Custom earned 2019 Executive MPV of the Year honors.

Ford has made a reputation for itself in the MECOTY Awards, now in its sixth year. Last year, the F-150 Raptor won Truck of the Year honors and the Mustang Shelby GT350 won Performance Coupe of the Year. In 2017, the Edge was named Best Compact SUV, the Ranger was named Best Midsize Truck, and the Ford Figo was named Best Hatchback.

The MECOTY Awards are determined by a panel of 19 experts from the GCC and Levant regions.
