GM Canada Announces Cho as New VP of General Counsel
General Motors Canada has announced that Peter Cho has been named the newest member of its Board of Directors. Cho will also take up the mantle of vice president, general counsel.
Prior to joining GM, Cho served as general counsel, corporate secretary & head of government relations with Volkswagen Group Canada. Prior to that, he was the senior director of the regional business management office for Volkswagen Group China and the general counsel for Kia Canada.
Prior to his career in the automotive industry, he worked at law firms Fasken Marineau DuMoulin and Macleod Dixon in Canada. As a member of GM Canada’s Executive Committee, Cho will report directly to Stephen K. Carlisle, president and managing director for GM Canada and Lucy Clark Dougherty, vice president, general counsel GMNA & Chief Legal Advisor, Global Vehicle Safety.

Additionally, GM Canada announced that a lawyer from the legal team overseeing dealer markets, restructuring, and environmental matters, Christina Cuthbert, is being appointed to the both the role of assistant to Peter Cho and the position of secretary for the GM Canada Board of Directors. Both appointments are effective March 30th.
