Hyundai Kona Tops J.D. Power Tech Experience Study
According to a new report, the Hyundai Kona provides one of the industry’s most satisfying technological experiences for new vehicle owners.
In the J.D. Power 2019 U.S. Tech Experience Index Study, the Kona was tied for No. 1 in the small vehicle segment. The TXI Study surveys how drivers interact with and feel toward vehicle technologies after 90 days of ownership.
The Kona rated especially well among owners for its driving assistance, smartphone integration, entertainment, connectivity, and navigation capabilities.
“We take great pride in offering cutting-edge safety technologies in all Hyundai models,” said Scott Margason, Hyundai Motor America’s director of product planning. “The Hyundai Kona not only showcases advanced technology, safety, and convenience features, but also creates a comfortable and satisfying experience for the whole family.”

High-value technology for a low price is one of the Kona’s top selling points. The subcompact SUV offers a wide variety of standard features, including a 7-inch touch-screen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Safety tech like a rearview camera with dynamic guidance, a vehicle stability management system, and Hill Start Assist Control come standard as well.
The Kona offers an array of optional infotainment tech features as well, most notably SiriusXM satellite radio, HD Radio, and Blue Link connected services. Buyers can also opt for available driver-assist options like Blind-Spot Collision Warning, Rear Cross-Traffic Collision Warning, and Lane Change Assist.
The Kona wasn’t the only Hyundai vehicle to excel in the 2019 TXI Study. The Santa Fe SUV landed in the top three for the midsize vehicle segment and the Elantra sedan made the top three for the compact vehicle segment.
