Cadillac’s upcoming 2020 XT6 is a new three-row crossover that will slot between the smaller five-passenger XT5 and the larger Escalade. According to recent reports and spy photos, the interior of the XT6 will be largely similar to that of the XT5.

Like the Cadillac XT5, the XT6 features a wide, winged dashboard with a dominant infotainment display screen in the center stack. Digital climate controls are located below the touch screen. The vehicles also have similar gearshifts.

It looks like there will only be a couple of major differences between the XT6 interior and the XT5 interior. First, the XT6 will add new rotary controls for the infotainment system, much like the interior of the new Cadillac XT4 crossover. Second, the XT6 will have a significantly larger interior with room for a third-row seat.

The XT6 is expected to closely resemble the XT5 on the outside as well, a conclusion supported by spy shots that have emerged over the past several months. The XT6 is rumored to carry the same 3.6-liter V6 under the hood, too — but it might also get a new nine-speed automatic transmission.

The XT6’s close similarity to the XT5 is probably a consequence of how quickly it was developed. Cadillac was caught flat-footed by the exploding popularity of crossovers. The luxury brand had to swiftly bulk up its lineup to match its competitors and include a three-row option. As a result, it didn’t have a lot of lead time to differentiate the cabin of the XT6.
