Is Mitsubishi Going to Live Tweet a Pizza Delivery Guy During the Super Bowl?
This isn't a joke.
According to a press release issued by Mitsubishi Motors North America on Tuesday, Mitsubishi will be running a marketing campaign online where they give a Boston pizza delivery guy a 2015 Mitsubishi Outlander to use during the big game and produce a short film about delivering pizzas on Super Bowl Sunday. They will also be providing live updates on Twitter during the game.
If you still think we’re joking, then the next two sentences won’t help. The film will be called “Protect the Pie”. They’re trying to bring attention to the fact that there are more pizza related car accidents on Super Bowl Sunday than any other day of the year, so they’re giving the 2015 Outlander to the delivery driver for the day because it’s an IIHS Top Safety Pick+.
It should really be a top priority in this country to reduce pizza related car accidents, especially during the Super Bowl. There are thousands of parties out there in every city, and pizza is their life blood. Mitsubishi knows this, and is going the extra mile to make sure no pizza in Boston is harmed on Sunday.
It certainly seems that Mitsubishi puts a high priority on protecting pizza. Perhaps Mitsubishi has lost its mind, or this is some brilliant viral marketing attempt and it’s hoping to blow up Twitter. They’ll release the “Protect the Pie” film on their YouTube channel on February 3rd.
Thank you, Mitsubishi.
