The Mitsubishi Lancer Evo X Final Edition

It was a sad day last year when we learned that Mitsubishi was pulling the plug on the Lancer Evolution, but the one bright light amidst all the despair was the promise of a Mitsubishi Lancer Evo X Final Edition. Japan will be the first market to get its share of the Final Edition model, which will be sold in a limited run: just 1,000 in Japan. It’s likely that they’ll all be ordered in a matter of days.

We’ll be getting our own variant of the Lancer Evo X Final Edition here in the States, but Mitsubishi has yet to release any specifications on the model. For now, all we have is information on the Japanese sibling, which is powered by a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder, which is good for 291 horsepower and 300 lb-ft of torque. It’s a tad disappointing, as we previously had reason to believe it’d pack 473 horsepower (based on the concept).

The final edition features the five-speed manual transmission on an all-wheel-drive platform (Super All Wheel Control). It sits on BBS wheels in high-performance tires and boasts Bilstein shocks, Brembo brakes, Recaro seats—you know, the works.

Stick around for more information regarding the American variant.
