Not many brands have been able to tout big sales wins in 2020, but Lincoln is defying expectations in China. Lincoln Motor Company is enjoying an impressive sales boom despite the effects of the coronavirus pandemic. In August, sales in China topped 6,100 units, an all-time high for the luxury brand.

The 65 percent year-over-year sales increase marked four months of growth for Lincoln in China. Lincoln has also managed to hit its sales targets six months in a row, signaling a strong comeback for the auto industry in the wake of COVID-19.

Lincoln’s all-new, locally built Aviator is a big part of its success in August. The Aviator racked up more than 1,000 orders in its first full month of sales. Adding to that was a huge month for the all-new Corsair, also built domestically, which hit a record high with 3,600 sales.

Mao Jingbo, the president of Lincoln China, took part in a celebration on Sept. 2 to commemorate the big month for the brand. Jingbo was joined by Ford Greater China President and CEO Anning Chen, Ford Motor Company CFO Tom Hilditch, and members of the Lincoln China team. Jingbo directed praise at the men and women who have kept the luxury brand going strong in spite of everything.

“Thanks to the shared strength of your dedication and drive to succeed, Lincoln China has made an impressive turnaround within a few short months, and you have laid the foundation for an even brighter future,” she said.

Lincoln maintains that it’s been able to deliver in China because of its commitment to three factors. With a focus on delivering American-style luxury, the perks of The Lincoln Way, and value marketing, Lincoln continues its impressive growth in the world’s largest new car market.
